Eterno Divino. A Special Gaze
Vasily Klyukin presents Eterno Divino, a new body of work exploring the timeless language of sacred art through a distinctly contemporary artistic vision. For the first time, the artist turns his focus to the icon—not as a historical artifact, but as a living symbol of light, spirituality, and the human search for the divine.
The exhibition features eight original works created using Klyukin’s signature artistic method, Demetricism. Through a dynamic interplay of rhythm, geometry, and structural energy, each composition transcends the traditional flat surface, revealing a multidimensional presence that is simultaneously painterly, sculptural, and architectural.
Rooted in the traditions of Orthodox Christian iconography while reinterpreting them with contemporary visual language, these works invite viewers into a dialogue between past and present. Rather than reproducing classical icons, Klyukin distills their spiritual essence, creating images that preserve the depth of the canon while opening new possibilities for artistic expression.
Color, movement, and relief merge to create contemplative spaces where light becomes a metaphor for inner transformation. Rich tones of gold, crimson, sapphire, emerald, and violet evoke the atmosphere of the sacred, while the artist’s distinctive layered construction gives each work a remarkable sense of depth and vitality.
Presented within the unique setting of a historic church, Eterno Divino becomes a bridge between ancient spiritual heritage and contemporary art. It is not an interpretation of iconography, but an invitation to experience the eternal through a new artistic language—one that honors tradition while speaking to today’s audience.
